Start precepting
Ten minutes. A coordinator replies within one business day.
Six things to check first
- Your license is active with no restriction, probation or pending action.
- Your board certification covers the population you would teach and is not inside 90 days of lapse.
- Two or more years have passed since your certification date in that population.
- Your clinic or video practice sees the visit types the course requires.
- You can give a student eight or nine hours a week for a term, or half that for a half-block.
- Your practice will sign an affiliation agreement, or already holds one with a school.
If one of them fails, apply anyway and say which. Some are cured by time and some by a signature.
What applying does not commit you to
Applying binds you to nothing: not a student, a rate, a program or a start date. Each of those is decided when a card arrives, and every card can be declined. Restrict yourself to video, cap yourself at one student at a time, block out weeks, or leave the roster, whenever you choose.
